Serving with Purpose

Our Clergy

Pastor Scott Walsh

In July 2023 we welcomed our new pastor, Rev. Scott T. Walsh and his wife Janice to Willoughby Hills UMC. Rev. Scott has been serving in ministry in the United Methodist church since 1983, first in music ministry and then as a full elder. His ministry gifts include preaching, visioning, strategist, leadership, and encourager.

Staff

Our church staff plays a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations, nurturing spiritual growth, and fostering community engagement. Each member contributes their unique skills and dedication, working together to create a welcoming and safe space where worship, faith development, and service thrive.

Together, the staff oversees worship services, office administration, ministry programs, and maintaining a clean, safe space, ensuring the church functions efficiently and effectively. Their responsibilities range from spiritual leadership and pastoral care to coordinating ministries, managing operations, and supporting child/youth and congregational needs.

Each role contributes to carrying out our purpose, ensuring that worship, ministry, and operations run seamlessly and with excellence. Through their collective efforts, the staff supports a faithful, organized, and thriving church community.
For day-to-day issues or general questions, please reach out to the staff. They are best equipped to assist and can respond quickly to your needs. For spiritual guidance and pastoral care, please contact the Pastor. He is happy to support you in faith.

Leadership Board

The Leadership Board ensures the church stays focused on its purpose, helping our faith community grow and thrive. Through a simplified, accountable structure, it fosters unity in leadership, helping decisions be clear, timely, and purposeful while removing obstacles to be responsive and outcome driven. Each member has a specific focus, but decisions are made together to stay connected to the congregation’s needs.

It oversees finances, property, mission outreach, and ensures accountability in leadership, making sure resources and talents are managed effectively. Policies and guidelines are provided to support the church’s work toward efficiency, effectiveness, and excellence.
Working in partnership with the Pastor and District Superintendent, the board offers strategic oversight, ensuring alignment with the broader church vision. Success depends on the active participation of the Staff and the Congregation, as members help fulfill the shared purpose. Together, we all work for the glory of God.
Recognizing this approach is a work in progress, the Leadership Board remains committed to clarity, unity, and purpose, guiding the church to thrive.

For ideas, suggestions, or discussions about church initiatives, feel free to connect with a Leadership Board member. They welcome conversations that help shape our shared purpose.
